Domaine Georges Noëllat

Domaine Georges Noëllat is a family estate of Vosne-Romanée, named after its founder. Since 2010 it has been run by his great-grandson Maxime Cheurlin, who took over the winemaking at the age of twenty.

Georges Noëllat founded the domaine in Vosne-Romanée, and it passed through his daughter Marie-Thérèse to the Cheurlin family. From 1990 to 2009 most of its production was sold to négociants, among them Drouhin and Jadot. In 2010 his great-grandson Maxime Cheurlin, then twenty, took over the winemaking and began to bottle the domaine's wines again under its own name.

He favours a long élevage in barrel, with about half new oak on average. Winehog describes the wines as delicate and refined, intense but light on their feet. Alongside the domaine, Maxime makes wines from bought grapes under his own label, Maxime Cheurlin-Noëllat.

The range here covers the domaine's best sites: Vosne-Romanée village and the premiers crus Les Beaux Monts, Les Chaumes and Les Petits Monts, Nuits-Saint-Georges premier cru Les Boudots, and the grands crus Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux.
