Corton-Charlemagne
Corton-Charlemagne is the white grand cru of the hill of Corton, on its upper slopes above Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. Its Chardonnay grows on the steep upper slopes, on marl, above the reddish soils that carry Pinot Noir lower down, and gives one of the richest white wines of Burgundy.
