Domaine Jean Grivot has been in Vosne-Romanée for generations and was one of the first estates there to bottle under its own name. Étienne Grivot took over from his father Jean in 1987, and his children Mathilde and Hubert now work with him.

The Grivot family has been established in Vosne-Romanée since the end of the eighteenth century. Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over the domaine from Étienne's father Jean in 1987; their daughter Mathilde and son Hubert have worked alongside them since 2010.

The estate covers about 15 hectares spread over 22 appellations, with vines in Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges. It holds three grands crus, Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux, and eight premiers crus, among them Les Beaux Monts and Les Suchots in Vosne-Romanée. The vineyards are farmed organically without certification, and part of the grands crus is ploughed by horse.

The wines here include Vosne-Romanée village and the premiers crus Aux Brûlées, Les Beaux Monts and Les Rouges, Nuits-Saint-Georges premiers crus Aux Boudots, Les Pruliers and Roncières, and the two grands crus Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux.
