Lafleur covers 4.5 hectares on the plateau of Pomerol, across the road from Pétrus, and has long been owned and worked by the Guinaudeau family. Where most of Pomerol is dominated by Merlot, Lafleur is planted with equal parts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Only natural fertilisers are used, and yields are kept very low, so the property makes little wine each year.

In September 2025 Baptiste and Julie Guinaudeau announced that the wine would leave the Pomerol appellation and be sold as Vin de France, to keep the freedom to adapt the vineyard to a changing climate. The vintages in our cellar were all made under the Pomerol appellation.

The bottles here are older vintages from the 1990s: 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1997, all from the years before the change of appellation, when the label still read Pomerol. See also Saint-Émilion next door, the collector wines or the full range of Bordeaux wines.
