Nervi is the oldest working winery in Gattinara, in northern Piedmont, founded in 1906, with 28.5 hectares of Nebbiolo including the crus Molsino and Valferana. Roberto Conterno, of Giacomo Conterno in Barolo, bought the estate in 2018 and rebuilt the cellar with the same equipment as in Monforte d'Alba. The wines are made as in Barolo: three to four weeks of maceration, then bottling after 30 to 34 months of ageing, with an extra year in bottle for the single-vineyard Gattinaras.
