The regional appellation of the Rhône Valley covers more ground than any other, which makes it the least informative name on a label taken alone. What matters is who made it.

In this selection it is the declassified bottling of estates whose reputation rests elsewhere: parcels that fell outside a cru boundary, young vines from a grand cru holding, or a cuvée the grower chose not to submit. Grenache leads, with Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre.
