Producer signature
Champagne Egly-Ouriet is a grower estate in Ambonnay, a grand cru village of the Montagne de Reims, run by Francis Egly since 1980, the fourth generation of the family. The old vines are worked with organic methods, ploughed and cropped low; only the first pressing is kept, and most cuvées spend at least 48 months on the lees, some more than 100. Pinot Noir leads the blends, and William Kelley of the Wine Advocate calls it one of the most meticulous producers in Champagne, from vineyard to cellar.
