Producer signature
Domaine Dugat-Py is based in Gevrey-Chambertin, where the Dugat family has grown vines since the seventeenth century; the domaine took its present name in 1994. It works only its own vines, many of them over sixty-five years old, farmed organically since the first trials in 1999 and across the whole estate since 2003, with part of the vineyard ploughed by horse. The wines are made with a share of whole bunches that varies with the vintage and raised in François Frères barrels; the domaine describes them as deeply coloured, rich and full-bodied yet elegant, and best opened after six to eight years.
