Domaine Dugat-Py

Domaine Dugat-Py was created in 1994 by Bernard Dugat and Jocelyne Py at Gevrey-Chambertin, from a family that has worked vines there for centuries. Their son Loïc runs it today. The estate is farmed organically since 1999 and is known for its very old vines.

The Dugat family has been tied to the vines of Gevrey-Chambertin for thirteen generations. The domaine in its present form was created in 1994 by Bernard Dugat and his wife Jocelyne Py. Their son Loïc joined them in 1996, made his first vintage on his own in 2005, and now leads the estate.

Organic farming began in 1999 and was certified in 2003. The domaine states that it works about 15 hectares, and several cuvées carry the words Vieilles Vignes or Très Vieilles Vignes, a sign of the age of the plots.

The range starts in Gevrey-Chambertin, from the village Vieilles Vignes and the Cœur de Roy to the premier cru Petite Chapelle, and rises to the grands crus Charmes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin and Mazoyères-Chambertin. In the Côte de Beaune the estate makes Corton-Charlemagne, a Beaune premier cru Clos des Avaux, Meursault and a Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru Morgeot, plus regional Bourgogne in both colours.
