Producer signature
Domaine Leflaive is based in Puligny-Montrachet, where the family has lived since 1717 and where Joseph Leflaive assembled the domaine from the 1920s. Under Anne-Claude Leflaive the whole vineyard moved to biodynamics, complete in 1997, and the grand cru plots are still ploughed by horse. The wines age twelve months in barrel with about a quarter new oak, then spend a second winter in steel tank to clarify before bottling. Brice de La Morandière, great-grandson of the founder, has run the domaine since 2015.
