Producer signature
Clos des Vignes du Maynes is based in Cruzille, a vineyard first planted by the monks of Cluny in 910 and bought by the Guillot family in 1952. It has been farmed organically since 1954, with no chemical product ever used, and biodynamically since 1998, when Julien Guillot joined the domaine. The wines ferment on native yeasts with no enzymes or additives and little or no sulphur or filtration; the whites are pressed directly and the reds go through a semi-carbonic maceration. The family looks for wines of texture and mouthfeel whose finish reflects the geology of each plot.
