Producer signature
Château Margaux is a First Growth of the 1855 classification, in the Margaux appellation of the Médoc, owned by the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977. Its vineyard is planted mostly with Cabernet Sauvignon on deep gravel, and the grand vin, about forty percent of the harvest after a strict selection, is aged around twenty-one months in new French oak barrels. The château describes its wines by their finesse and their capacity to age; Pavillon Rouge, the second wine, has carried its name since 1906.
