The Suenen family has grown vines in Cramant since the late nineteenth century. Marcel Suenen, born in 1899, married Simone Stourbe in 1924, and the couple bottled their first wine by hand, a single vat of dry Blanc de Blancs. Their sons Bernard and André continued the family estate, and Daniel Suenen, Aurélien's father, later expanded the vineyard holdings and widened the range of cuvées produced. Aurélien Suenen grew up in Cramant and took charge of the harvest in 2008.

The estate farms five hectares across the Grand Cru villages of Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry, on Côte des Blancs chalk from the Campanian era, where Chardonnay is planted on a surface layer that regulates water and heat. A separate plot of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grows on sandy, clay based soils near Montigny-sur-Vesle, in the Saint-Thierry hills. Herbicides have been banned across the Côte des Blancs plots, and each year the estate works with the soil laboratory LAMS, run by Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, to study its parcels. Wines are aged in oak barrels and tuns kept from earlier generations, along with an ovoid concrete tank and enamelled vats used for some of the non-vintage cuvées.
