Domaine Stéphane Magnien is a small family estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis, founded in 1897 and run by four generations of the same family. Its vines have never been treated with herbicide: the soils were ploughed by horse, then by tractor, to keep them alive and send the roots deep. Harvest is by hand, vinification is traditional, and the wines age fourteen to eighteen months in oak barrels, generally without fining or filtration. The domaine looks for wines that combine concentration and finesse, with aromatic freshness and the character of each plot.
