Renaissance Vineyards

Renaissance Vineyards was planted in the North Yuba American Viticultural Area, on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada foothills near Oregon House, California. The vineyard was planted with viticultural advice from Karl Werner and grew to 365 acres (148 hectares) under vine. Its officers petitioned for the creation of the North Yuba AVA, established on July 30, 1985.

Renaissance Vineyard and Winery was developed on land near Oregon House, in Yuba County, California. Viticultural consultant Karl Werner advised on the vineyard's planting. Werner and James R. Bryant, officers of Renaissance Vineyard and Winery, Inc., petitioned for a new American Viticultural Area, and the North Yuba AVA was established on July 30, 1985. At the time, Renaissance was the largest wine producer in the region.

The vineyard expanded over time to 365 acres (148 hectares) under vine, with production reaching more than 40,000 cases a year at its peak. Cabernet Sauvignon was the main grape planted, alongside Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, Roussanne and Semillon, grown across hillside sites in the Sierra foothills. Renaissance ceased operations in 2015, and its vineyards were subsequently leased to other local growers in the North Yuba AVA.
