Champagne Jacquesson

Jacquesson was founded in Châlons-sur-Marne in 1798 by Claude and Memmie Jacquesson. Jean Chiquet bought the house in 1974, and his sons Jean-Hervé and Laurent later ran it from Dizy, north of Épernay, until Artémis Domaines acquired it in 2022.

Jacquesson was founded in Châlons-sur-Marne in 1798 by Claude and Memmie Jacquesson. The business became Jacquesson & Fils in 1832, when Memmie's son Adolphe joined it; he patented the muselet, the wire cage that holds a champagne cork, in 1844. Annual sales reached one million bottles by 1867. Businessman Léon de Tassigny bought the house in 1925 and added vineyards in grand cru villages. Jean Chiquet purchased Jacquesson in 1974, and his sons Jean-Hervé and Laurent later directed the house from Dizy, north of Épernay.

Jacquesson uses organic vineyard practices and ferments in oak barrels. Grapes come from grand cru villages including Aÿ, Avize and Oiry, premier cru villages including Dizy, Hautvillers and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, and a smaller share from other approved villages. In March 2022, François Pinault's holding company Artémis Domaines bought a stake in the house, and completed a full purchase in December 2022.
