The Trapet family has made wine in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1870. Jean-Louis Trapet moved the vineyard to biodynamics in the mid 1990s; it has been certified by Biodyvin since 1998 and by Demeter since 2005. His sons Pierre and Louis joined the domaine in 2017 and 2018.

The grapes are sorted and partly destemmed, macerated cool before a long fermentation, and the wine goes down by gravity to the barrel cellar, with 30 to 75 percent new oak according to the cuvée. No sulphur is used before a small dose at bottling. Jasper Morris describes the wines as leaning towards elegance and finesse rather than power.

The range here runs from the village Gevrey-Chambertin cuvées Ostrea and 1859 and the premiers crus Les Corbeaux and Petite Chapelle to the three grands crus: Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Latricières-Chambertin.
