Domaine Roulot

Domaine Roulot is a family estate in Meursault founded in 1830 by Guillaume Roulot. Jean-Marc Roulot has run the domaine since 1989 and farms the vines organically. Its 1973 Meursault Charmes premier cru was ranked second among the white wines at the 1976 Judgment of Paris tasting.

Domaine Roulot was founded in 1830 by Guillaume Roulot in Meursault. Jean-Marc Roulot has run the estate since 1989 and converted the vineyards to organic viticulture. Its 1973 Meursault Charmes premier cru was ranked second among the white wines at the 1976 Judgment of Paris.

The domaine owns about 8.8 hectares, mostly in Meursault: premier cru parcels at Les Perrières, purchased in 1976, Clos des Bouchères, Porusot and Les Charmes, along with village lieux-dits such as Les Tillets, Les Narvaux and Les Meix Chavaux. A small amount of Pinot Noir comes from Auxey-Duresses and Monthelie, and the domaine also makes a Bourgogne Blanc and a Bourgogne Aligoté. The white wines age a minimum of 12 months in oak barrels, with the share of new wood ranging from 5% for the Bourgogne to 20 to 30% for the premier crus.
