Domaine Nicole Lamarche

Domaine Nicole Lamarche is a family estate in Vosne-Romanée whose roots go back to 1797. Nicole Lamarche, of the sixth generation of the family, took over the vines and the winemaking from her predecessor François Lamarche, and the domaine's labels have carried her name since July 2019. Its vineyard holdings include the monopole La Grande Rue, a grand cru set between Romanée-Conti and La Tâche.

The Lamarche family has farmed vines in Vosne-Romanée since 1797, with the maternal side of the family recorded in the village as far back as 1740. François Lamarche represented the fifth generation to run the domaine. When the sixth generation took charge, Nathalie Lamarche took over sales and her cousin Nicole Lamarche took over the vineyard and cellar work. Since 1 July 2019, the estate's labels have read Nicole Lamarche.

The domaine farms about 11 hectares across 14 appellations, of which around 8 hectares are owned outright and the rest held on long-term lease. Its best known vineyard is La Grande Rue, a 1.65-hectare monopole planted between Romanée-Conti and La Tâche; the INAO voted to promote it from premier cru to grand cru on 14 November 1989, a decision confirmed by decree on 2 July 1992. Other holdings include Clos de Vougeot, Grands-Échézeaux, Échézeaux, and premier cru parcels in Chaumes, Malconsorts, Suchots and La Croix Rameau. Grapes are picked by hand, partly destemmed for the grand crus, and moved by gravity in the cellar, with little or no fining or filtration.
