Domaine Hubert et Laurent Lignier

Domaine Hubert Lignier is a family estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis, run by Laurent Lignier since 2006, with eleven hectares mostly in the Côte de Nuits. Its wines, labelled Domaine Hubert et Laurent Lignier, come largely from old vines of massal selection.

The domaine is based in Morey-Saint-Denis, where it built a new cellar on the route nationale in 2008. Laurent Lignier has led it since 2006. Much of the vineyard is old vines from massal selection, the oldest planted in 1936; the soils have been worked without herbicide or insecticide since the 1990s, and the vineyard is certified organic since 2019.

Harvest is by hand and a share of whole bunches is kept. The wines age about twenty months in oak with 20 to 30 percent new barrels, and are then bottled by gravity, without fining or filtration. William Kelley notes that the wines are moved by gravity, without pumping.

The range here comes from Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, village and premier cru, up to the grand cru Clos de la Roche, a few rows from the domaine's cellar in Morey.
