Domaine de Saint-Pierre

Domaine de Saint-Pierre is based at Mathenay, near Arbois in the Jura, and is run by Fabrice Dodane. Dodane began working at the estate in the late 1980s, after a spell at the cooperative cellar of Pupillin, and bought the vineyard from his former employers, Hubert and Renaud Moyne, in 2011.

Fabrice Dodane started his career at the cooperative cellar of Pupillin before joining Domaine de Saint-Pierre, at Mathenay near Arbois, in the late 1980s. He worked there for years under its owners, Hubert and Renaud Moyne, before buying the vineyard from them in 2011 and becoming its sole owner.

The estate covers about six hectares on clay and limestone soils mixed with pebbles, along with plots of grey marl. The vines are farmed organically, with only sulfur and copper used against vine disease, and yields are kept low to let each plot express itself. Dodane grows Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard and Pinot Noir, bottled under the Arbois and Côtes du Jura appellations.
